Pro bono representation has been an integral part of Irwin IP’s mission since our founding. This year, our attorneys once again rose to the challenge—collectively providing more than 1,500 hours of pro bono legal services in just the first three quarters of 2025.
In recognition of this ongoing commitment, Irwin IP’s Pro Bono Committee is proud to honor Reid Huefner as the 2025 Irwin IP Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. Reid exemplifies the firm’s dedication to expanding access to justice, contributing more than 400 hours of free legal services this year alone.
Over the past year, Reid has devoted his time and talent to advancing complex intellectual-property, business, and litigation matters for artists, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations. His work combines deep technical knowledge, compassion, and creativity—delivering tangible wins for clients who otherwise would not have been able to secure legal representation.
Among his many accomplishments, Reid secured a bench-trial victory for our client Adriana Miranda, an independent artist asserting her contractual and copyright rights. Through countless hours of dedicated advocacy, he achieved a judgment that preserved Ms. Miranda’s ownership and creative control over her work.
Beyond the courtroom, Reid has supported numerous small businesses, startups and entrepreneurs, guiding them through the intricacies of intellectual property and business law—from business formation to trademark and copyright protection. He also shared his expertise with the broader community, speaking at organizations such as Notre Dame’s McKenna Center, Rogers Park Business Alliance, mHUB, CMAA Small Business Expo, People of Play, and APEX Accelerator events, among others.
Equally impactful has been Reid’s mentorship within the firm. He has guided associates on their own pro bono matters, helping them develop their skills while serving those in need of legal assistance.
From courtroom victories to community education, Reid Huefner truly embodies Irwin IP’s mission—delivering practical legal advocacy, fostering inclusive access to justice, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of clients, colleagues, and communities alike.
As part of this award, the firm will be making a charitable donation to Lawyers for the Creative Arts in Reid’s name—a reflection of both his service and Irwin IP’s enduring commitment to supporting organizations that expand access to justice.
Congratulations to Reid Huefner, Irwin IP’s 2025 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year!
