Jeffrey Catalano is an intellectual property litigator with 20 years of experience handling disputes involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and IP-adjacent commercial matters. He represents both rights holders and accused infringers, helping clients enforce their intellectual property and resolve complex disputes efficiently. Jeff regularly practices in federal courts nationwide, as well as before arbitrators, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and the International Trade Commission.

Clients in the U.S. and abroad trust Jeff with high-stakes litigation involving tens—and often hundreds—of millions of dollars. He also has significant experience guiding clients through their first major U.S. litigation, providing practical insight into the challenges of U.S. discovery. His candid approach, clear communication style, and focus on client business objectives allow him to navigate complex matters with precision and efficiency.

A full-service IP litigator, Jeff has handled matters across a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, internet commerce, additive manufacturing, household appliances, quantum computing, big data, pharmaceuticals, and emerging technologies such as exosome harvesting. He also has extensive experience with trade secret disputes involving customer lists and proprietary business information.

Jeff’s trademark litigation experience spans industries such as collegiate apparel, nutraceuticals, bodybuilding supplements, online commerce, and food products. His copyright work includes disputes involving the use of photographs in online commerce, music and sound recordings in advertising, and unauthorized derivative works.

Jeff approaches intellectual property disputes first and foremost as a litigator. He is particularly skilled at translating complex technologies and legal concepts into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with judges and juries.
