Katherine O’Malley is a summer associate at Irwin IP. Katherine is a third-year student at Loyola University Chicago School of law, where she serves as Senior Editor of the Journal of Regulatory Compliance. Previously, Katherine worked as a judicial extern in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Katherine is also a member of Loyola’s Intellectual Property Law Society and served as an Associate Editor of Annals of Health Law and Life Sciences. In 2021, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from Santa Clara University, with a concentration in Law and Policy.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining Irwin IP LLP, Katherine served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Jorge L. Alonso and the Honorable Judge Young B. Kim in the Northern District of Illinois. There, she gained experience in a variety of areas of law and invaluable insight into the behind-the-scenes of federal court proceedings.

During her undergraduate, Katherine worked as a research assistant for an associate professor. She conducted research on food system resiliency plans and policy implementations to promote community resilience for populations in the Bay Area.
