Mackenzie Pike is a summer associate at Irwin IP. She is a rising 3L at Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
Prior to law school Mackenzie obtained a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas. Additionally, she served as an intern for a personal injury law firm and a judicial intern for the Dallas County 68th Civil District Court.
In law school she has served as an academic tutor, intellectual property legal writing tutor, judicial extern for the Circuit Court of Cook County Law Division, and an associate editor for the Annals of Health Law and Life Sciences. Through her associate editor position she researched and wrote an article on AI speech discrimination in automated speech recognition technology being used as medical record tool which was published in the Fall 2021 Advance Directive.
Additionally, she spent her 1L summer as a legal intern for Helix, a population genomics start-up company in Silicon Valley.
Mackenzie’s passion for intellectual property law stems from a combination of her professional dance career and science background as she feels the protection of both art and science is essential.
